Rules

Handicaps:      

Ladies & Super Seniors (80+)  Front Tees
Senior (65+) One Tee Box Back
All Others Two Tee Boxes Back           

Mulligans:  Any player who purchases a raffle ticket will have 1 mulligan for the nine holes and may be used for any shot or putt, except for contests

Points for Par 3's - One point is awarded to each player whose tee shot on a par 3 is on the green.  Mark a "G" by the players name on the scorecard. The player who is closest to the hole for all teams that participated is awarded one additional point.

Longest Putt - on a designated hole - each player on the team winning the longest putt will receive 2 points

Rules of Play:

• Handicap determines which tee box a player starts hole from.
• Winter rules apply, players get a 1 club length lie no closer to the hole, any shot outside the greens.
• If the ball is an unplayable lie, you cannot move it to a playable lie.
• You cannot play a ball that is out of bounds.
• If you choose to play a ball in a trap, you cannot move it out of the trap.
• If you choose to play a ball in a water hazard, you cannot move it out of the water hazard.
• If you choose to play a ball in any other hazard, you cannot move it out of the hazard.
• Every shot must be played, no gimmies on the greens.
• Extra shot - Teams that are short players, compared to the rest of the field, will decide the rotation on the first tee shot and must keep the same rotation for the round.  A player will have the extra shot for the entire hole.  Cannot be used to compete for Greenie, Closet to Pin, but can be used for Longest Putt.Teams with an Extra Shot do have an Extra Shot Mulligan to be taken by the player with the extra shot.
• Players that show up after play has began, will join their respective team and play the remaining holes left.

Earning Points

• 1st place of Round, each Team member receives 5 points
• 2nd place of Round, each Team member receives 4 points
• 3rd place of Round, each Team member receives 3 points
• 4th place of Round, each Team member receives 2 points
• All others playing in Round receive 1 point.
• Everyone is guaranteed at least 1 point for playing.
• Skill shot winners are awarded 1 additional point (Closest to the pin).
• New - Longest putt on 9th or 18th hole, 2 points per player by team decision
• In case of a place tie within each Round, all teams/players will receive full place points

Format

Scramble | Shamble | Best Ball | 2-Man Scramble | 3 Clubs | 3 hole Scramble, 3 hole Best Ball, 3 hole Alternate Shot Scramble

• Each player will be part of a team, made up of 4 players.
• Each player hits every shot, after everyone has hit, the team decides which ball is the best position to play the next shot.
• Once the best position is determined, everyone on the team plays the next shot from this position.
• Every shot is played from by all players and played from the best position (determined by team), even on the greens.
• Play continues for the entire round from the best position.
• Only one score is kept for the entire team.
  • If a team is short one player, the following rules apply:
  • The fourth shot will alternate equally between the three players on the team.
  • Player A, will hit two shots off the first tee, Players B and C will hit only one shot.
  • Player B, will hit two shots on the next shot, Players A and C will hit only one shot.
  • Player C, will hit two shots on the next shot, Players A and B will hit only one shot.
  • Once the alternate shot has rotated through all the players, the alternate shot rotates back to Player A.
  • Continue this rotation through out the round.

Shamble

• Each player will be part of a team, made up of 4 players.
• Each member of the foursome hits a tee shot and the best drive of the team is selected.
• From the spot of the selected tee shot, each player plays their own ball for the remaining shots of the hole.
• Same rules apply for par 3's. (Every one plays from best tee shot, then plays their own ball in).
• The best two (2) scores are kept for each hole for the team.
• There will be a MAXIMUM score for each hole.
• The maximum score for any hole is: twice par (par 3 - max 6; par 4 - max 8; par 5 - max 10)
• If you reach the maximum on any hole pickup your ball and record the max on the scorecard.
• If a team is short one player, the following rules apply:
  • The fourth shot will alternate equally between the three players on the team.
  • Player A, will hit two shots off the first tee, and play two balls for the hole. Player A will have two scores for the hole, Players B and C will have only one score.
  • Player B, will hit two shots off the next tee, and play two balls for the hole. Player B will have two scores for the hole, Players A and C will have only one score.
  • Player C, will hit two shots off the next tee, and play two balls for the hole. Player C will have two scores for the hole, Players A and B will have only one score.
  • Once the alternate shot has rotated through all the players, the alternate shot rotates back to Player A.
  • Continue this rotation through out the round.

Best Ball

• Each player will be part of a team, made up of 4 players.
• Played like an individual round of golf, except the TWO BEST SCORES are kept per hole for the team.
• Each player plays their own ball every shot for the entire round.
• The two players with the best score for the hole are recorded for the team.
• There will be a MAXIMUM score for each hole.
• The maximum score for any hole is: twice par (par 3 - max 6; par 4 - max 8; par 5 - max 10)
• If you reach the maximum on any hole pickup your ball and record the max on the scorecard.
• If a team is short one player, the following rules apply:
  • Each member will rotate playing two balls on each hole.
  • 1st hole Player A will play two balls.
  • 2nd hole Player B will play two balls.
  • 3rd hole Player C will play two balls.
  • 4th hole the rotation is back to Player A.
  • Continue this rotation through out the round.

2-Man Scramble

• Each player will be part of a team, made up of 4 players.
• The team will be divided into two 2-Man pairings, decided by team members.
• The two 2-Man pairings will be played as a scramble, each pairing keeping their score.
• Two scores are kept for team.
• If a team is short one player, the following rules apply:
  • 1st hole, Player A will play a scramble with Player B and Player C.
  • 2nd hole, Player B will play a scramble with Player A and Player C.
  • 3rd hole, Player C will play a scramble with Player A and Player B.
  • 4th hole, start the rotation over with Player A.
  • Continue this rotation through out the round.

3 Clubs

• Each player will be paired as part of a 4 player team.
• The format is played as a Scramble, only each player is limited to 3 clubs.
• Each player will pick only (3) clubs of their choice, all other clubs a removed from their bag.
• Each player can pick any 3 clubs they want, (i.e., one player picks the Driver, 5 iron and Wedge. Another player picks a 3 wood, 7 iron and putter, etc...)
• Each player can only use a club from their bag, you may not share clubs between team members.
• One score is kept for each hole for the team.
• If a team is short one player, the following rules apply:
  • The fourth shot will alternate equally between the three players on the team.
  • Player A, will hit two shots off the first tee, Players B and C will hit only one shot.
  • Player B, will hit two shots on the next shot, Players A and C will hit only one shot.
  • Player C, will hit two shots on the next shot, Players A and B will hit only one shot.
  • Once the alternate shot has rotated through all the players, the alternate shot rotates back to Player A.
  • Continue this rotation through out the round.

3 hole Scramble, 3 hole Best Ball, 3 hole Alternate Shot

• Each player will be part of a team, made up of 4 players.
• The team will be divided into two 2-Man pairings, decided by team members.
• The two 2-Man pairings will be played as a Scramble, Best Ball and Alternate Shot, each pairing keeping their score.
• Holes 1 - 3 are played as a Scramble.
• Holes 4 - 6 are played as Best Ball.
• Holes 7 - 9 are played as Alternate Shot, where:
  • Only one ball is played for each of the pairings
  • The players from each pairing alternate each shot (example: Player A and Player D are paired. Player A hits the first shot off tee, Player D does not hit off the tee. Player D then hits the next shot, Player A does not hit)
• There will be a MAXIMUM score for each hole.
• The maximum score for any hole is: twice par (par 3 - max 6; par 4 - max 8; par 5 - max 10)
• If you reach the maximum on any hole pickup your ball and record the max on the scorecard.
• Two scores are kept for team.
• If a team is short one player, the following rules apply:
  • Apply the short player rules for Scramble.
  • Apply the short player rules for Best Ball.
  • Hole 7, Player A will play alternate shot with Player B and Player C.
  • Hole 8, Player B will play alternate shot with Player A and Player C.
  • Hole 9, Player C will play alternate shot with Player A and Player B.

Prizes

Weekly Round

• Closest to the pin will win a prize each week.
• Prizes will vary from week to week.

End of Season

• The member with most points will be declared the League Champion.
• League Champion
  • Earns privilege to keep the Coveted Cup in their possession for entire year.
  • Awarded cash, determined from number of players in league.
  • Awarded the League Champion Trophy.

Points

League Play

• Played every week on Tuesday 5:30 pm at a course that will be announced.
• Players need to check in by 5:00 so we can draw teams.
• Each round is most likely played on the front 9 (we'll try to get some rounds on the back 9)
• Shot-gun start if we maintain a 50 player field, guaranteed for 1st two tournaments.
• Cost varies for each course, includes cart.
• Format will be a 4 person scramble, unless posted prior to sign up.
• Players are entered in the computer and the computer picks the teams. If the computer is not available, players are drawn from hat to form 4 member teams.
• All members of a Team earn points according to the Team's placing.
